Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week - Benedictine Golfer Kolbe Kennedy 6.13.2015
Kolbe just recently graduated from
Benedictine Military School, but he has been a standout golfer at Benedictine
for the past four years. On the year, he led the Cadets golf team to a third-place
finish in the Georgia High School Association Class AA state golf tournament,
which is the highest finish for Benedictine golf in school history.
Individually, Kolbe finished third in the state tournament shooting a 72 one
stroke off the individual title. Kennedy also was the Savannah Morning News Best of
Preps Male Golfer of the Year.
Besides the third-place finish and player of
the year, he had a great senior year on the golf course. Kolbe has been consistent
with
a 75.4 scoring average for the second consecutive season; a second place finished
at the BC Invitational and when it counted Kennedy shot a 72 at the Region 2-AA
tournament to help the Cadets win the region title. Which also was the Cadets
first region championship in golf. BC Golf Coach Doug Willett had
this to say, “Kolbe has a burning desire to win. He never quits; he has been
our leader, and his teammates feed off of him, and he has set the bar for BC
golf for years to come.”
