Appeals are In! New GHSA Regions Announced for Savannah Area Schools

The Georgia High School Association reclassification committee meet today and heard appeals from schools that wanted to move up or down a classification.  All Savannah Area schools that appealed won. So, here are the placements in classification for Savannah Area Schools for the 2020-2022 school years.

Where is your GISA & SCISA School Playing? Bethesda, Memorial Day, & St. Andrew's School

It's that time of year or I like to say,  the icing on the cake, THE PLAYOFFS!

Bethesda will play this Friday, November 15 vs Carolina Academy at Daffin Park beginning at 7:30 pm in the  South Carolina Independent Schools Association (SCISA) 1 A Semifinals. The winner of this game will play the winner of Thomas Heyward and PeeDee Academy in the State Championship game next Saturday, November 23 at Benedict College beginning at 12:00 pm.

The Memorial Day School Matadors have secured a home game for the first round of the Georgia Independent Schools Association (GISA) AA State Playoffs. The Matadors defeated Robert Toombs Christian Academy on Friday night (34-32) to earn the runner-up spot in Region 2AA. The Westwood Wildcats from Camilla will travel to the Garden City Stadium this Friday, November 15^th for a 7:30 PM kickoff. The winner of this contest will travel to Gatewood in Eatonton for the Elite Eight game next Friday, November 22^nd.

St. Andrews School locked a playoff spot in the GISA a couple of weeks as the GISA 2AA region regular season champion. The Lions will have a bye this week and host a quarterfinal game at St. Andrew's School on November 22 vs. Briarwood at 7:30 p.m. Good luck to all our GISA and SCISA teams.

One Week to Go - Where does Your Favorite Team Stand?

Can you believe eleven weeks of high school football has come and gone? Most teams will wrap up their season games this weekend as some will start playoffs. We have to send out a big congratulation to Richmond Hill High School, St. Andrew's School, and Bethesda, which have claimed the regular-season region crowns so far. This week's games kick off this Tuesday night as Beach has to make a game up from earlier this season. We will know who is in the state football playoffs and who is out after this week's games.  The following standings are what MaxPreps has posted as of 11.04.19
