The Savannah Quarterback Club passed out its Offensive and Defensive players of the week for games played on September 29, 2017.
Catching the offensive player of the Week honors was Jenkins's senior wide receiver Tyrone Scott. Scott is one of the top college recruits in the Savannah area this year. In the game against Johnson High School, in which Jenkins won 35-6 win. Tyrone had three catches for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Tackling the defensive player of the week was Savannah High's senior outside linebacker Treisean Palmer. Treisean was honored for Savannah High’s 21-15 win over Beach. He had eight solo tackles and one sack. Both players both got a chance to speak to the club about winning their respective awards and had the chance to listen to the guest speaker, former college and NFL player Chris Moher.

Mohr grew up in Thomson, Georgia, and played high school football at Briarwood Academy. Chris was recruited by the University of Alabama, where he was the team's starting punter for three years. Mohr went on played in the NFL with Tampa Bay (1989), Buffalo Bills (1991-2000), Atlanta Falcons (2001-2004, and the Washington Redskins (2005. The highlight of Mohr's career was with the Bills from 1991 to 2000, during which time he appeared in three Super Bowls with the team—Super Bowl XXVI, Super Bowl XXVII, and Super Bowl XXVIII.
