It's that time - Win and Stay In Lose and Go Home

Are you ready for a lot of fast-paced prep basketball games in the Georgia High School Association State playoffs? The state playoffs have been delayed twice, and playoff games finally will start February 21. The state tournament schedule has games set to be played every day but two through the semifinals.

This year's schedule has four rounds to be played in nine days. In the past, it would usually take two weeks to play four rounds. Teams are going to have a lot of stamina and mental fortitude to play this type of schedule and with the added pressure to win to stay in or lose and go home.

The girls open the state tournament on Friday, and the guys follow on Saturday night. If both teams from the same school have made the tournament, the school is allowed to set a home doubleheader, and both schools have to agree. Here is the schedule for our local teams that made it to the state basketball tournament.
