SCAD Women’s Soccer Shuts Down Faulkner University
QUICK SCORE:The SCAD women’s soccer team shut down Faulkner University in a 1-0 win at home Saturday afternoon.
RECORDS:The Bees improve to 3-2 while the Eagles fall to 0-4 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:Despite the hour weather day, SCAD came out strong and controlled the ball for 90 percent of the game. Even though the offense kept the ball for the majority of the game, the defense held strong as they did not allow more than one shot and none on goal.
Sam Manelis scored the Bees’ only goal on a penalty kick at the 53:51 mark.
BOX SCORE:The Bees totaled 35 shots with Annie Sullivan leading the way with nine.
Maddy Lambert tallied five shots while Sam Manelis had four and one goal.
Hannah Amidon, Mikaela Heyboer and Nikki Abel took three shots while Makayla Dean and Emily Castro took two. Stephanie Guerra and Lindsay Crawley totaled one shot each.
WHAT’S NEXT? The Bees remain at home to take on No. 20 Georgia Gwinnett College on Monday, September 10 at 5:00 p.m.
