After the first eight games of the season Sydney led the
Saint’s volleyball team in assists with 170. Assists are key to the game of
volleyball, because the ball goes through the setter who passes, sets or digs the
ball to a teammate resulting in an attack for a successful point. Then the setter is awarded an assist. Sanders has been the player for the Saints where the ball goes through her for her team to score points.
Furthermore, Sanders is a big part as the Saint’s Volleyball program which is ranked 3rd in the Georgia High School State rankings by
the Atlanta Journal Constitution as of this writing. “Sydney is a very versatile athlete, and she
works hard at each sport she participates in and works just as intensely in the classroom," said St. Vincent’s Athletic Director Dawn Odom.
“She has played varsity golf, volleyball, and basketball. She is an exceptional
student athlete.”
