Joshua has been the starting quarterback and free safety for the Bethesda Academy football program for the last three seasons. Woodley also is part of the Blazers Championship basketball team and track program. "Josh's athletic ability is key to his success in all three sports," said Head Football Coach Antwan Turner.
In the first four weeks of the season, Woodley has been a key to why the
Blazers are undefeated. In a big win over cross-town rival Memorial Day School,
Josh threw for 218 yards and a touchdown and was instrumental in the Blazers
offense. Bethesda had 458 total yards, which included four rushing touchdown
and one passing as Woodley connected with Zack Askew, to set the tone of game
as Askew never looked back on a 65-yard touchdown reception as Blazers took the
lead, as they beat Memorial Day 32-20.
“Josh is a hard worker. He works at getting better at quarterback all the
time,” said Coach Antwan Turner. “Josh has grown tremendously on and off the
field, and he is the leader any coach would want at the quarterback position or
any position on the team.
