The Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week- Benedictine
Football Player junior John Wesley Kennedy 11.16.15
Last week's Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week was
Benedictine Military School football player junior John Wesley Kennedy. John
likes to go by Wes. Kennedy was nominated for his performance against Long
County High School on November 6th as he ran for 144 yards on 9 carries and two
touchdowns. On the night, Wes accounted for over 200 yards for the Cadets as
they clinched the region title and a number-one seed in the state playoff.
Kennedy finished the regular season scoring 25 touchdowns; 15 were on runs,
7 on passes, and 3 on special teams. Up to this point Wes has rushed for 958
yards on 108 caries, an average of 8.9 a carry, 707 yards on 27 receptions for
an average of 24 yards per catch, and 376 yards returned on 4 punts and 8 kickoff
returns for an average of 32 yards per return. Kennedy has a total of 2041
yards all-purpose yards for the Cadets this season. After Wes appeared on the
show, he was named the Coaches 2-AA Region Football Player of the Year. The amazing thing is Wes can do this from any postion on the gridiron and we get to watch him do this all over again next season. Congrats to John Wesley Kennedy on a truly outstanding season.
