SAVANNAH, GA. April 5, 2016 – The Savannah
Bananas are excited to announce the signing of four players from the University
of Georgia. Logan Moody, Drew Moody, Addison Albright, and Adam Goodman will be
joining the Bananas for the inaugural 2016 season.
Logan Moody (FR/OF & Corner INF) is the younger brother of Drew, his
teammate on both the Bulldogs and the Bananas. Logan went to LaGrange High
School, where he lettered in baseball, as well as basketball and soccer. He has
played in 18 of the Bulldogs 30 games so far for this season.
Bananas head coach, Sean West, said
the following about him, “Logan is slugging .360 for the Bulldogs thus far and
will bring some wanted pop to the middle of our lineup this summer. His
athleticism will allow him to see time both in the OF and Corner INF for us
this summer. What he will bring to the team goes beyond his athletic abilities.”
West added, “Coach Stricklin has great
things to say about this young man’s character and work ethic. He will be a big
part of the future for UGA baseball.”
Drew Moody (JR/RHP), Logan’s older brother, will be one of the Bulldog’s top
arms this season. Thus far through the 2016 season, he is leading Georgia in
appearances with 12 and has thrown 24 innings in relief with 20
strikeouts.
“Drew will be a huge part of our
staff this summer,” says West. “We will expect Drew to be one of our back end
guys on our staff, if not our main closer. He brings a ton of experience to our
staff that has both competed and experienced success in arguably the best
baseball conference in the nation, the SEC.”
Addison Albright (FR/LHP) is a left-handed pitcher from
West Forsyth High School, where he holds the record for most playoff wins in
school history. So far this spring, opponents are hitting .250 against Addison
and his ERA is 2.16.
“Addison will be a good arm for us
this summer. While Addison won’t get a ton of innings for the Bulldogs this
spring, his arm will be fresh for us this summer, and I expect big things from
him. I am not sure if he will be used as a starter or fill a relief role for
us, but again, competes in the SEC and is learning under one of the best
coaches in the nation, Scott Stricklin,” says West.
Adam Goodman (FR/LHP) is 6’6” and also a left-handed pitcher. He pitched and
played first base at Starr’s Mill High School. So far this season he has
pitched 4 innings this spring for the Bulldogs and has 3 strikeouts.
“Similar to Albright, Adam will come
in with a fresh arm. His first couple outings will dictate how we use him this
summer. I see him as a possible starter or mid inning/situation match up type
guy for us,” says West. “His big frame allows his fastball to jump on hitters.
We expect him to have a very successful summer in Savannah, especially against
wood bats.”
