The last regular "Huddle" for the Savannah Quarterback Club was held on November 27, 2017. As has been a tradition the Savannah Quarterback Club handed off its latest two player of the week awards for the last weekend of the high school football season for the weekend of November 3, 2017.
Benedictine Military School senior running back Terrick Smalls, Jr. took home the Offensive Player of the Week. Smalls rushed for 112 yards on 10 carries, had one reception for 25 yards with one touchdown in the Cadets 41-0 win over Jeff Davis.
The Defensive Player of the Week award went to HV Jenkins High's senior corner back Daniel Jordan in the Warriors win over Beach 49-14, Jordan had 7 tackles and a sack. Both award winners thank the quarterback club for their award and then got to listen to the guest speaker, ESPN College Football Journalist Mark Schlabach.
There will be one more meeting for the Savannah Quarterback Club on January 27, 2018. That will be the Annual Bowl Party. It is a unique meeting because that's when the club gives out exceptional awards and announces the players of the year and the team of the year.
