More Awards for the GISA AA Football Champions - Memorial Day Blue Thunder

Michael Thompson, Head Coach of Memorial Day School’s Blue Thunder football team, earned another trophy for his already crowded trophy case, by being named the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) AA “COACH OF THE YEAR” for 2017.

Thompson led his 2017 team to the school’s 6th GISA AA State Championship on Friday, November 17th against Robert Toombs Christian Academy (Lyons).  The Blue Thunder have now won 6 State Championships since 2008.  Thompson also has 2 State Basketball championship on his resume.

All Region and All State Awards for the Blue Thunder were also announced today:       

ALL REGION PLAYERS:  Derry Pinkston, Julian Roberts, Jamario Green, Troy Thompson, Taj Bailey.         

ALL REGION / ALL STATE PLAYERS: Winston Wright, Delvecchio Powell, Christian Smith, Caelan Jones

All Region and All State honors are voted on by the coaches of the GISA.

Senior Christian Smith will be playing in the GISA All Star game this weekend in Americus.
