The Wetherington
Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week- Savannah Arts Academy Tennis Player sophomore
Sara Putman
For two straight
years, the Savannah Arts Academy girl's tennis team has reached the state
playoffs. This 2015 season the Lady Panthers took it one step further and
reached the Class AAA Elite eight. One reason was because of sophomore Sara Putman,
who went 5-0 in Georgia High School Association tournament play. On the year,
Sara finished undefeated with a 19-0 record. That’s why she is this week's Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic
Athlete of the Week for May 23, 2015.
Sara
has an amazing two-year high school record, 37-0. Putman has won the Savannah
Morning News Girls Tennis Player of the Year two years in a row. “Sara has a
lot of patients; she is focused, and she knows how to control the match she is in,"
said Head Coach Karin Best. “She is simply amazing. She sets up her points by
thinking ahead. She knows how to play the game.” Sara will continue to play
this summer through the United States Tennis Association events in her
respective age group.
