This week’s Wetherington Chiropractic Clinic Athlete of the Week is Savannah Christian Preparatory School Track & Field Athlete junior Demetris Robertson.
Demetris at the Georgia High School Association Boys Track & Field State Championships won three gold medals during the three day meet in Jefferson Georgia on the weekend of May 14 -16. On Thursday May 14th, Robertson jumped 23 feet, 1/4 inch to win the gold in the long jump, then on Saturday May 16th; he won the 100 meters race with a time of 10.86 and later in the day was victorious in the 200 meters race with a time of 21.62 to bring home more gold to the SAV.
Demetris is a gifted three sport athlete and has gained national recognition in football, basketball, and track and field. He won two Savannah Morning News Best of Preps Awards, the Most Versatile Male Athlete of the Year and the Boys Track and Field Male Athlete of the Year. Robertson has received scholarships to play football at 26 major D1 schools, 1 from Clemson to play basketball, and six offers to run track and field. The list of recruiters just gets longer and longer each month and what is fascinating Demetris still has to finish his senior year. By the time Robertson graduates, he will probably be the most sought-after prep athlete ever to come out of Savannah Georgia.
